The affogato is a classic Italian dessert of hot espresso poured over a scoop of vanilla ice cream or gelato. Hot and cold, bitter and sweet. Heaven in a cup, basically. Starting today, Starbucks is offering the option to get any Frappuccino flavor affogato-style, meaning with a shot of hot espresso.Source

Ingredients

1 pint heavy cream

1 tablespoon sugar

2 pints excellent-quality vanilla bean gelato or ice cream

4 shots freshly pulled espresso

2 tablespoons, crumbled amaretti, pizzelle, or biscotti, for garnish

Yield

Serves: 4

Preparation

Put the cream and sugar in a mixing bowl, and whip with a hand mixer until soft peaks form. (Mix in espresso powder or coffee powder to your whipped cream for extra coffee flavor!)

Scoop 3 small scoops of gelato into each of 4 parfait or Irish coffee glasses. Pour 1 shot of espresso over each serving. Crumble some cookie pieces over the ice cream. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and more crushed cookies. Recipe Source
